Monkey Bread

This has always been a favorite in our house, who doesn’t love melted butter and sugar?! Not to mention getting to eat with your fingers! I used to dread making it as it took forever and the kids whined while waiting for it to be done. Then I figured out a way to make a smaller version in the bread machine and now it is relatively easy!

Monkey Bread

1/2 cup water

2 eggs

2 Tbs butter

1/2 tsp salt

3 Tbs sugar

2 1/4 cups bread flour (can use 1 cup whole wheat flour)

1 1/2 tsp yeast

Place ingredients in bread machine a run dough cycle. When dough is complete, remove from machine and divide into 1 inch round pieces (approximately 32 pieces).Prepare a bundt pan by greasing the tube and sides with butter.

Melt 6 Tbs melted butter. In another bowl mix 2/3 cup brown sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon. Dip the pieces of bread into the melted butter and then roll in the sugar mixture. Place in the bundt pan. Layer the pieces as you go. Once all the pieces are in the pan, let it rise for 20 minutes while you preheat the oven to 350F. Bake the bread (place bundt on a cookie sheet in case of drips) for 25-30 minutes. remove from oven and turn out onto a plate immediately. Enjoy!
